This editorial in The Daily Beast by Michael Medved is a spot-on critique about the U.S. media’s sloppy, biased reporting on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Palestinian propaganda blindly promulgated by the media as truth is the biggest issue affecting Israel’s relationship with the international community.
The most striking point in this piece is that before the 1967 war, the West Bank, Gaza and East Jerusalem were controlled by Egypt and Jordan, not the Palestinians. In the 18 years between Israel’s independence day and the 1967 war, the Palestinian leaders (led by a close Hitler ally) made absolutely no effort to claim that land as their nation, and the Arab countries made no effort to establish a country for the Palestinians. Instead, they focused the entirety of their resources and energy on destroying the Jewish nation, while denying Jews access to their most Holy sites.
Since the Palestinians were not able to expel the Jews by waging war after war, they are now manipulating the international community to help them gain the foothold they need to destroy the Israeli nation - land just 10 to 20 miles away from many of Israel’s most populous cities. Anyone who says differently is truly ignorant of the facts, as the Palestinians still have not conceded Israel’s right to merely exist.
